Join Me at CycloneCon

I'll be at Author's Alley at CycloneCon, Centenary University's student-run fan convention, on April 5, 2025.

Join Me at CycloneCon

This Saturday, April 5, 2025, I will be participating in the Author's Alley at CycloneCon. I'm not sure if I'll be in cosplay or Sketching Details merch, but you'll be able to find me easy. I'll be the anxious reclusive author bopping along to to the music in their head and and nerding out over horror and weird fiction.

CycloneCon is Centenary University's annual fan convention focused on comics, anime, and video games. For the first time, they're going to have a section dedicated to local authors, which is great since I am both local and an author. I'll be there with Take Out, Haunted, Holiday Spirits, #31Days: A Collection of Horror Essays Vol. 1/Vol. 2, and Tick: A Short Musical.

There will also be a free, exclusive-to-CylconeCon zine with a mix of criticism, poetry, fiction, and art. Every good booth has freebies. Please take some. Horror Con guests were very free stuff-averse.

The convention runs 10AM to 6PM this Saturday all over the Centenary University campus in Hackettstown. I'll be in the library with the other authors and all the cosplay meetup events.

They have plenty to do throughout the day, including a vendor hall, Artist's Alley, Author's Alley, the East Coast Gaming Expo with indie video games, tabletop gaming, Cosplay Masquerade and Catwalk events, a Super Smash Bros tournament, panels throughout the day, food trucks, and even a stamp rally and scavenger hunt for prizes.

If you order tickets in advance, they're $10 (plus service fee) for adults, $5 (plus service fee) for Centenary University students, and free for children under 12 and under. The prices will increase at the door the day of the event and it will be cash only for tickets.

I'm a big fan of the small college convention. I've had wonderful experiences in the past as press, as a presenter, and as a vendor going to campuses like Castle Point Anime Convention (from Stevens University) and Quinni-Con (from Quinnipiac University). Whether the events grow (Castle Point Anime Convention is now a two-day event at the Meadowlands Expo Center) or fade away, they're a great opportunity for college students to get real world experience in event planning and logistics. I'm more than happy to play my part and support them as long as they fit my schedule and will have me.

CycloneCon looks like it's going to be a great college-run convention with a wide variety of activities to satisfy every fan looking to get that convention experience at a one day event. I look forward to meeting you there.
